Over the past few years, many of our members have made impressive strides in bolstering safety for employees through the use of technology, collaboration, and policy. Going forward, we want to acknowledge hard-working districts for exemplifying and promoting a safety culture. This year, we recognize Clifton Sanitation District for their efforts. They have fostered a safety culture where everyone’s voices are heard, and continue to demonstrate how safety comes first in all aspects of their organization.

Clifton has taken advantage of the Pool’s resources by utilizing our safety management consultant and completing over 160 courses on TargetSolutions. Because of their small staff, this amount of time and commitment is extraordinary. Clifton Sanitation assigns one training course to every employee on a monthly basis, and then assigns additional courses as extra credit. With this kind of continued training, their team is so well-versed in workplace safety it has become second nature to observe best practices.
